On Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Anthem at Merrill Ranch Community Park in Florence, the Anthem at Merrill Ranch Community will host its second annual American Heroes Concert to pay tribute to the men and women who protect and serve. Held near the eleventh anniversary of the attacks of 9/11/01, this free concert is open to the general public and donations are encouraged at the gate. All donations will support The 100 Club of Arizona. The Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation will be the beneficiary of 25% of beer proceeds gathered at the Budweiser Beer Garden at the event.

The concert will feature live music by Affinity, Uptown Angels and performances by The Tucson Twist Its Jumprope Team, as well as a tribute program, the presentation of colors by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and much more. Guest speakers include Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, The 100 Club Executive Director Sharon Knutson-Felix and Town of Florence Interim Police Chief and Fire Chief, Dan Hughes and Jeff Moser, respectively.

Attendees of all ages are invited to attend. Gates open at 4:30 pm and the concert begins at 5:00 pm. Food vendors will be on site, including Fry’s Kettle Corn, Whiskey Ranch Wood Fired Pizza, Duncan’s Mighty Mo’s Mini Donuts, Gourmet Command Center and Greek Islands Grill. Kids will enjoy bounce houses, playground, splash pad and participating with the Tucson Twist Its on stage! Hero Tribute Lanterns will be available for sale and released during the beginning of the concert as a tribute to all of our fallen American Heroes. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The 100 Club. Pulte Homes will also be taking raffle entries to win a two-some of golf at Poston Butte Golf Club, valued at over $200 each. Please be advised that pets will not be permitted at the American Heroes Concert. Service animals with proper identification will be permitted.

The American Heroes Concert is supported by the Florence Hospital at Anthem, Solar City and The Mahoney Group as primary sponsors. All gate donations support The 100 Club. Other opportunities will be available at the event to support the Arizona Public Safety Foundation and the Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation. Event attendees are encouraged to bring some change/cash to show their support to these organizations, as well as to purchase food and snacks. ATMs will also be available. No outside food or beverage permitted.
