“Fizz! Boom! Read!” enters its final week of activities at the Florence Community Library, showcasing a science theme.  Reading logs are due no later than Friday, June 27.

Every participant who registered for the Summer Reading Program was automatically entered into a raffle.  The drawing is Monday, June 23, with the winner notified by phone.  The raffle winner receives a ticket voucher redeemable for 4 tickets at a Arizona Diamondbacks game. This voucher can be used at any Arizona Diamondbacks home game during the 2014 regular season.

Activities continue through the week.  On Tuesday at 2:00 pm, the library is hosting Brad Berger and his interactive Chemistry Show for teens, ages 13 and up.  On Wednesday at 10:00 am, Ms. Rita’s Family Storytime welcomes Tucson author Nancy L.Young.  Nancy will read from her book, “The Moon Saw It All,” and the first 25 children to arrive receive a free autographed copy.  On Thursday at 2:00 pm, families create scientific art.  On Friday at 1:00 pm, the library is showing a final family movie, with free popcorn and drink.

The Summer Reading Finale begins at 5:30 pm, Friday June 27.  The library is hosting Paul Watson and his Comedy Hypnosis Show.  Join us for an evening of laughter and crazy fun.  Watch Paul change reality and open people’s imagination in a funny, creative way.  Even if you’ve seen his show before, it’s never the same.  It’s going to be a fun-filled evening you won’t forget!  This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Florence Community Library.  Registration is strongly encouraged.
