Calling superheroes, zombies, witches, wizards, and aliens of all ages! Saturday, June 23, the library will hold its second Florence Community Library ComiCon, with a host of activities that are free and open to the public.

The library will hold programs from Noon – 4 pm. Children and families can enjoy superhero and science fiction themed Crafts. Make your own superhero wristbands, masks, and identity cards. Use the library’s new button maker to create your own superhero button. Enjoy gaming on one of multiple systems, and become Batman and explore the Batcave on the library’s recently-added virtual reality station!

Special guests will include: the Tucson Zombies, who will provide zombie face-painting and airbrushed, water-based superhero tattoos; the Umbrella Corporation, representing the Resident Evil franchise; and The Kingdom of Umbria, a historical costume group whose presentation will include a medieval combat demonstration!

Regular library services will be available during the day of the ComiCon. Library patrons are advised to expect increased noise and activity on this date, and asked to please plan accordingly.
