Come to the library Thursday, January 11 at 2:00 pm to learn how to use the library’s self-service digitization station!

The Florence Community Library is one of several Pinal County libraries now offering a grant-funded digital media lab. You can use this equipment to scan your treasured family photos, convert your home movies to DVD, and even turn audio cassettes into MP3s. This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Arizona Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The digitization station is self-service, with patrons expected to rely on the written instruction book to guide them through the use of the equipment. However, on January 11 at 2:00 pm, Shawn Flecken, Emerging Technologies Librarian for the Pinal County Library District, will offer patrons a free class taking them through all the gizmos and gadgets and how to use them! If you’re interested in digitizing some of your old media, this class is an opportunity you’re strongly encouraged to take advantage of!

The presentation will take place at the Town of Florence Library and Community Center on Thursday, January 11 at 2:00 pm.  For more information, or to sign up, please contact the library at (520) 868 – 8311.
