The Florence Community Library is hosting a presentation about the life of Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of the 16th President of the United States, on March 8th at 5:30pm.  Join author and historian Peggy Dunn as she traces the life of Mrs. Lincoln and her transformation from Illinois housewife to First Lady.

Dunn, author of “Mrs. Lady President and the Women of Washington Society,” focuses on the Washington activities of Mrs. Lincoln, from her hasty departure from Illinois to her difficulties fitting in with a Washington society whose rules she refused to follow.  The presentation includes discussion of Washington society, and touches on other prominent women of the time.

Seating is limited, so it is strongly recommended that you sign up in advance of the program date.  Please visit the library or call (520) 868-8311 for more information.
