The Road to Country Thunder is scheduled for Saturday, April 4th and the Town of Florence wants residents to know that many businesses along Main Street will be open before and during the event. The Town of Florence is pleased to partner with Country Thunder to host this first-ever free concert and battle of the bands in downtown.

Business owners are looking forward to Road to Country Thunder as much as the fans of the bands that will perform.  Many business owners view the Road to Country Thunder event as a great way to attract people to downtown and they welcome the added activity. While parking may be limited on Main Street throughout the day, businesses will be accessible to pedestrians at all times. Most retail, restaurant, and bars will be open on Saturday.

Vehicular traffic will be restricted on parts of Main Street beginning at 6:00 am on Saturday, April 4th. The Town of Florence is working hard to reduce the impact on businesses and residents as much as possible. Main Street, south of 8th Street, will be open to vehicles until 1:00 p.m., one hour before Road to Country Thunder begins.  Consider shopping early if you need to park in front of stores south of 8th Street. Main Street, from Ruggles Street to 8th Street, will be closed at 6:00 a.m., so it is best to park east or west of Main Street all day on Saturday.

Residents are encouraged to support our local businesses in Florence before, during, and after the Road to Country Thunder party. Our locally owned businesses invest in Florence by generating jobs and taxes; supporting our youth; and contributing to many local charitable causes.

According to Local First Arizona, for every $100 dollars spent at an independent business, $73 remains in the community. For every $100 dollars spent at a non-independent business $43 stays in the community.

The Road to Country Thunder event will take place on April 4, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 11:00 p.m. The stage will be located between the Silver King Marketplace and American Legion Post 9. Food, beverages, and limited seating will be available along Main Street. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the music at the Road to Country Thunder bash.
