The month of March will see many exciting programs for patrons of all ages at the Florence Community Library!  

Saturday, March 2: Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s Birthday at the Florence Community Library on Saturday, March 2 on the patio (weather permitting), from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  Oh, the places we’ll go… 

Join Ms. Rita and the Cat in the Hat for a reading of “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”  Color the biggest birthday card, sing “Happy Birthday,” decorate cookies, win raffle prizes, and get your picture taken with the Cat in the Hat. Oh, what fun games we’ll play! Everyone is encouraged to wear your favorite Hat, and yes, we will succeed!  …In having a whole lot of fun. 

Tuesday, March 5: Coffee Club

Join us Tuesday, March 5, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, for our library Coffee Club.  Meet, greet, and socialize with fellow community members.  Elizabeth Kizer will return to discuss the local food environment and serve up healthy, great-tasting smoothies.  Coffee, tea and healthy snacks are provided.  For more information, please call the library call the library at (520)868-8311. 

Friday, March 8: Author Diana Gabaldon

Meet best-selling author Diana Gabaldon at the Florence Community Library! 

Gabaldon, author of the best-selling “Outlander” and “Lord John” series, will stop by the Florence Community Library Friday, March 8, at 1:00 pm.  She will discuss her books, including the forthcoming eighth “Outlander” book.  She will also be available to sign copies of her books and to answer a limited number of audience questions.

Thursday John Wayne Movie Series

Enjoy popcorn and a movie Thursday evenings at the Florence Community Library! 

The Florence Community Library will hold a John Wayne film series to tie in with its March 18 discussion about John Wayne’s work in Arizona.  Throughout the month, a movie starring the western icon will be shown in the library programming room every Thursday at 5:30 pm.  Popcorn is provided, and patrons should feel free to bring dinner and soft drink to the show!
