Florence Mayor Tom J. Rankin was voted in at the Wednesday, June 19th Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Regional Council meeting as the newest member to MAG’s Transportation Policy Committee (TPC).  The vote was unanimous.

Mayor Rankin is excited for the opportunities for Florence that come with a seat on the TPC, as Florence will now have a seat at the table where regional transportation plans that affect the MAG area, including Florence, are formulated.

“I am proud to serve on this important committee that will benefit Florence for years to come”, said Florence Mayor Tom J. Rankin.

The TPC was established by the MAG Regional Council in 2002 to oversee the development of the 20-year Regional Transportation Plan and to guide transportation planning in the region.  The TPC is made up of 23 members representing cities and towns across the region, the business community, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Maricopa County, the Native American Indian Community, and the Citizens Transportation Oversight Committee.
