Can’t wait for Country Thunder to start? We can’t either! Join us in downtown Florence on Saturday, April 4 for the “Road to Country Thunder” music spectacular. We are celebrating the nearing of the Southwest’s greatest country music event, Country Thunder, with a little party of our own. The pre-festival bash features a battle of the bands competition, music performed by Ryan Bexley, food, drinks and all of the fun you can handle.  This free event is brought to you by the Town of Florence and Country Thunder.

The “Road to Country Thunder” music event starts at 2:00 p.m. and lasts until 11:00 p.m.  In addition to Ryan Bexley, four local country bands are performing in a battle of the bands competition.  Food and merchandise vendors are brought to you by the 100 Club of Arizona.  The 100 Club of Arizona is a charitable, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance and resource information to families of public safety officers and firefighters who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.

The winner of the battle of the bands competition is given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the Country Thunder Kickoff Party in the Denim and Diamonds VIP area on Wednesday, April 8. Bands who want to enter the battle of the bands competition can post their videos on the Road to Country Thunder Facebook page. The eight bands with the most Facebook Likes move onto the next round. Country Thunder radio partners KIIM and KMLE each choose one band to compete on April 4. The remaining bands perform at either the River Bottom Grill in Florence, Arizona on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m., or the Gallopin’ Goose in Coolidge, Arizona on Sunday, March 22 at 3:00 p.m.  Visit the “Road to Country Thunder” Facebook page for the latest information and to vote for your favorite local bands.
