The Town of Florence Community Services Department is seeking input at two public forums, about its parks and recreation facilities and services.  The first forum is on Wednesday, January 30th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Anthem Parkside Community Center at 3200 N. Anthem Way.  The second forum is on Thursday, January 31st from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  in the Library and Community Center at 778 N. Main Street.

The Town is developing a Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan and has hired GreenPlay, LLC, a nationally-known parks and recreation management consulting firm to oversee its development.  The plan will consider existing parks, recreational facilities, programs and services and then determine the current and future level of services for the community based on public input.  The plan will prioritize the needs and desires for upgrading and improving parks, recreational facilities, amenities, programs and services.

In addition to the open houses, a needs assessment will be conducted.  The results will help determine the citizen priorities for recreational facilities and activities and help identify funding sources and potential partnerships.

Residents, business owners, special interest groups and any other interested parties are urged to attend either public forum.

Please call the Community Services Department at (520) 868-7589 with any questions.
