The Town of Florence is asking for your help with the placement of bulk trash. New rules for the placement of bulk trash were recently updated that will help to minimize the clutter in our neighborhoods and enhance the bulk trash services that the Florence residents receive.
Effective January 1, 2014, all Florence residents must call to schedule their bulk trash pick-up. Residents can simply call (520) 868-7677 and provide the Town with the address of the pick-up. Please call no later than 24 hours in advance of the pick-up. If no call is made to the Town to schedule the pick-up of the bulk trash, then the bulk trash will not be picked-up.
Any loose items (leaves, weeds, limbs, etc) must be bagged, boxed, or bundled. Loose items cannot be placed on the ground. Tree limbs must be cut in lengths of 4 feet and bundled. Larger items can be placed on the ground for pick-up. All items should be organized in a way that allows the people responsible for picking up the bulk trash to easily grab the materials and move on to the next pick-up. If loose items are not properly bagged, boxed or bundled, then the bulk trash will not be picked up.
Bulk trash can only be placed out 48 hours in advance of the scheduled service. When residents wait to place out their bulk trash items to two days before the bulk trash is picked up, it minimizes the clutter in our neighborhoods. If bulk trash is placed out too early, then the Town may issue a fine.
Bulk trash is picked up once a month for every Town resident with an active trash account. Bulk trash is picked-up on the first Wednesday of every month in the Florence Core and Florence Gardens areas. Bulk trash is picked-up on the second Wednesday of each month in the Anthem area.
