Citizens interested in serving the community are encouraged to apply for openings on a Town of Florence board or commission. Several openings are now available including positions on the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), Library Advisory Board and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Citizen participation and input on Town boards and commissions are valuable to Town staff. Board and commission members represent the community at-large and provide helpful information. Significant time commitments are not necessary as most boards meet monthly or quarterly.

Members of the IDA review projects which apply for low-interest loans designed to further economic progress. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviews and offers suggestions on a variety of programs and events. Members of the Library Board discuss library programs and help update existing and shape future policies.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a qualified elector (registered to vote) and a Florence resident. Applications are available at Town Hall, 775 N. Main and on the Town website at www.florenceaz.gov/boards-and-commissions/.
