On Thursday, October 20th, the Town of Florence received a letter from Curis Resources Inc. requesting the withdrawal of their two Town of Florence 2020 General Plan amendment applications, PZC-32-11MPGA and PZC-33-11-MGPA.  This is the second time Curis Resources Inc. has submitted and then requested a withdrawal of applications to amend the General Plan in the last 13 months.

The Florence Town Council decides on Monday, November 7, 2011 whether to accept or reject the withdrawal of the two applications.

The scheduled meeting date, time and location remain unchanged.  The Florence Town Council is holding the Monday, November 7th Town of Florence Town Council meeting at the Florence High School gymnasium, located at 1000 S. Willow Street, Florence, Arizona.  The meeting starts at 6:00 pm.  The doors open at 4:30 pm.

The Mayor and Town Council may elect to recess the meeting at or around 11:00pm and reconvene on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 6:00pm at the same location (Florence High School gymnasium).

At the Town Council meeting on November 7th, the Florence Town Council will determine to accept or deny the withdrawal requests from Curis Resources Inc.  The Town Council will vote independently on each request.   If the Florence Town Council accepts the withdrawal request of a case, then no further action will take place on that case.  If the Florence Town Council denies the withdrawal request on a case, they will take action on that case.

Public hearings on each of the cases will occur only if the Florence Town Council rejects the request from Curis Resources Inc. to withdraw the respective application.

The third case scheduled for the November 7th Town Council meeting remains unchanged.  The Town of Florence is the applicant requesting the adjustment of  the Town’s conceptual alignment of the proposed North-South ADOT Freeway Corridor based on information collected and analysis completed since the adoption of the 2020 General Plan in 2010.
