As part of its ongoing desire to provide a variety of water-related programs for teens and adults this summer, the Florence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Shallow Water Walking class.

Water walking is an easy, effective, low-impact aerobic workout. Water provides 12 to 14 times the resistance of air, resulting in strengthened muscles while burning up to 550 calories per hour.  Water walking shoes are highly recommended.

Held at the Florence Community Pool, the registration fee is $10 per month and just $5 for Fitness Center Members. The class is held every Monday and Wednesday for the months of June, July, and August from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Registration is open to ages 15 years and older.  You can register at the Parks and Recreation Department at 132 N. Bailey Street or here
