There are many activities planned for Monday, July 4th in Florence. Events start early with the Freedom Parade in Anthem and end late with the fireworks show at Heritage Park. Activities are planned for the whole day for all ages.

The Freedom Parade starts in Anthem at 8:00am. The parade includes the Pledge, colors ceremony, a patriotic performance, awards ceremony and much more. The parade starts at Merrill Ranch Parkway, across from Sun City Boulevard, and ends at Anthem Community Park. Anyone interested in registering an entry into the parade can visit the Anthem website.

At 10:00am, the fun continues at the Florence Community Pool. From 10:00am to 1:00pm, there is free swimming, games and prizes.

The activities at Heritage Park begin at 2:30pm with the mud volleyball tournament. Other activities at Heritage Park include a horseshoe tournament, salsa contest, watermelon eating contest, skateboard competition, basketball competition, surfing competition, mechanical surfboard rides, a super slide, food and craft vendors, and live Reggae music performed by Neon Prophet. The night ends with a bang when the Freedom Fireworks show starts at 8:30pm. More information about the activities at Heritage Park is on the Town of Florence’s website.

More activities are planned in downtown Florence at Jacques Square (across the street from Florence True Value Hardware Store). The Artwalk starts at 3:00pm and ends at approximately 7:00pm.
