Get a taste of adventure at the Florence Community Library’s monthly movie discussion at 1 pm on Saturday, December 10.  The presentation will focus on the evolution of the American action film, with the discussion followed by a free showing of a recent action/suspense hit!

Action/adventure stories have been a part of world literature for as long as storytelling has existed – so it’s no surprise that the film world has followed suit, with action movies dating as far back as 1903!  Join us as we trace the development of the action film from early silent pictures to the action boom of the ‘80s, to the summer blockbusters of today.

After the presentation, enjoy a free showing of a 2016 action thriller, loosely based on a series by author Robert Ludlum.  Popcorn and water will be available free while supplies last.  Patrons are encouraged to bring their own food or soft drink to the show!
