The Florence Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for openings this summer at the Florence Aquatic Center. Individuals 15 years and older may apply for a variety of positions including: pool manager, head guard, swim team coach, lifeguards, cashiers and swim instructors.
Interviews will begin this month and all positions are open until filled so anyone interested in working at the aquatics center this summer, is encouraged to submit an application immediately. Applications may be printed online at www.florenceaz.gov or at Town Hall, 775 N. Main Street. Past employees of the Aquatic Center are required to re-apply.
All successful applicants (except cashiers) must become Lifeguard Certified through the American Red Cross. Lifeguard Training is $150 per participant and is held Tuesday, March 14 through Friday, March 17th. Those individuals applying as swim coach or who wish to teach swim lessons, must pass the Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course scheduled for Tuesday, March 21 through Friday, March 24. Cost is $175 per participant.
The deadline to register for these courses is Friday, March 3rd. Classes will be held at the Florence Aquatic Center.
