The Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department and the Arizona Department of Corrections are hosting the Third Annual “Ball and Chain Public Safety Invitational” Co-ed Slow Pitch Softball Tournament on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

The tournament is limited to the first 12 teams to register. The tournament champion will receive the Warden’s Cup traveling trophy to display at their work location until the next scheduled tournament. They will also receive champion t-shirts and bragging rights.

AZ Gloveman Custom Gloves will be awarded as prizes to the tournament male and female Most Valuable Players.

Potential teams include those employed in law enforcement, corrections, fire safety and probation. The ratio will be six males and four females on the field. Credentials are required to participate, although one male and one female or two female non-law enforcement individuals may participate.

The Casa Grande Police Officer’s Association was last year’s tournament champion.

There is an early bird discount fee of $250 if paid and registered by Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Thereafter, the registration fee of $275 is due by Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Florence Community Center, 778 N. Main Street or online at www.florenceaz.gov/parks-and-recreation.
