To introduce the community to the exciting game of pickleball, the Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Beginning Pickleball Class on four Tuesdays, starting February 23rd. The classes are held from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the pickleball courts, just west of the Library and Community Center, located at 800 North Main Street. There is no fee for the class and it is open to the first 12 people who register.

Pickleball can be described as playing tennis on a badminton-sized court. It accommodates two to four players at a time and is fast-paced. Long-time Pickleball instructor, Ferd Sobota provides instruction and direction on rules, equipment and tips on effective play and strategy.

While there is no fee for the class, pre-registration is required. Register at the Florence Library/Community Center at 778 N. Main Street or online at www.florenceaz.gov/parks.
