What would the holiday be like without our Historic Main Street filled with colorful lights, a parade and gingerbread houses? No one has to find out since once again, your Florence Parks and Recreation Department will present the Annual “Christmas on Main Street” on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The evening begins with holiday crafts, food vendors, music, the popular Gingerbread House Contest and Pictures with Santa will be held on Main Street. Register for the Gingerbread House Contest (sponsored by Belva’s Real Estate) by 6:30 pm with judging beginning at 7:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in the following three categories: Edible, Non-edible, Judge’s Choice and 12 and under. Photos with Santa Claus also begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held at the Silver King Market Place at Main and Ruggles.

Be sure to vote for your favorite store front decorations in the “Main of Lights” contest. Main Street businesses and store fronts will light up downtown the entire month of December. Cast your vote for the best decorated store front on the Town of Florence (government) Facebook page. Cast your vote by 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd.

The evening concludes with the Light Parade on Main Street beginning at 8:00 p.m. The parade will offer a variety of floats and bands.
