Imagine historic Main Street filled with holiday cheer, laughter, Santa Claus and a holiday light parade. All this and more is at the annual Christmas on Main Street event on Friday, December 4 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., holiday crafts, food vendors, and music bring Main Street alive.

This year’s Gingerbread House Contest is sponsored by Belva’s Real Estate. Register your creation by 6:30 p.m.; judging begins at 7:30 p.m. Prizes are awarded in four categories, including: edible, non-edible, judge’s choice and 12 and under.

Photos with Santa Claus starts at 6:00 p.m. and is held at the Silver King Market Place, located at Main Street and Ruggles Street.

The evening concludes with the Holiday Light Parade on Main Street at 8:30 p.m. We shut off the lights and the parade entries light up the night! The parade starts at Ruggles Street and ends at 12th Street.

Be sure to vote for your favorite storefront decorations during the “Main of Lights” event. Main Street businesses and store fronts are lighting-up downtown throughout the month of December. Cast your vote for the best decorated store front on the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. Votes must be cast by 6:00 p.m. on Friday December 4th.
