The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is placing signal poles at the intersection of Highway 79 and Diversion Dam Road beginning at 8:00am on Thursday, September 7th, with work possibly continuing through Friday, September 8th. Additionally, ADOT subcontractors are striping both roads at this intersection, starting at 9:00pm on Sunday September 10th.

Work continues overnight and should be completed the morning of Monday, September 11th. This work includes the re-striping of the area along Diversion Dam Road from Highway 79 to approximately 370 feet east of Highway 79. Drivers should expect limited access to Diversion Dam Road during this time.

Traffic controls are in place to direct traffic. Expect lane closures, reduction of speed, detours, and minor delays throughout the intersection and striping area until work is completed. Please observe caution when approaching the intersection, reduce speed, and look for work personnel in the area.

This work is part of the current ADOT project to signalize the intersection of Highway 79 and Diversion Dam Road. It is expected to improve intersection safety, improve traffic flow for local residents and business, as well as provide safer access for emergency response personnel traveling through the area.
