Our state has been the setting for countless movies over the years, featuring such stars as Steve McQueen, Tyrone Power, Tom Mix, Maureen O’Hara, Katy Jurado and John Wayne. Everyone is invited to hear the next in a series of historical presentations about Arizona’s contributions on the silver screen.

The recreation division of Florence Community Services Department has again partnered with Az Humanities to schedule a series of historical presentations to March, 2018.

Cowpokes, Crooks and Cactus: Arizona in the Movies is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6th at the Community Center starting at 6:00 p.m.

The lecture, part of the Arizona Speaks program, will be presented by Gregory McNamee, a former columnist for the Hollywood Reporter.

All the presentations are free. The Community Center is located at 778 N. Main Street.
