Dog Park Grant Awarded

The Town of Florence received a $10,000 grant for improvements to the Central Bark Park.  PetSafe, a pet distribution company headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee sponsors the annual grant program titled, Bark for Your Park grant campaign.

Florence Community Services was one of only 25 communities nation-wide from 215 applicants which was awarded the money for improvements to the dog park.  Florence was also the only Arizona community to receive funding.

The scope of work for the $10,000 grant includes new benches, signage, trees, fencing and entryway improvements as well as dog play equipment such as an archway run, bar jump and “top dog stairs and ramp.”

All improvements are expected to be completed by the end of October.
