Fall Pickle Ball Lessons will be offered in three upcoming sessions consisting of four weekly classes each. The first is the fall session on November 7, 14, 21 and 28. The classes, offered by the recreation division of Florence Community Services, are designed to improve the skill level from beginner’s to advanced players. Pickle ball can be described as playing tennis on a badminton-sized court. It accommodates two to four players at a time.

The classes are on Tuesdays from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the pickle ball courts, just west of the Library and Community Center at 778 N. Main Street. There is no fee for the class but pre-registration is required.

Register at the Florence Library/Community Center at 778 N. Main Street, Florence Fitness Center at 133 N. Main or online at www.florenceaz.gov/parks-and-recreation. The class is open to the first 12 people who register.

Long-time pickle ball instructor and tournament player, Ferd Sobota will provide instruction and direction on rules, equipment and tips on effective play and strategy.
