Based on the book by…”

Join us Saturday, February 25 at 1:00 pm for the Florence Community Library’s February movie discussion, as we focus on films adapted from books. This will be followed by a showing of a major 2016 release based on a bestselling novel— all completely free of charge!

Popular novels have been made into movies since the dawn of film.  Sometimes, the results perfectly capture what readers loved, while also casting a spell over audiences who never read the book.  Other times, the movie turns into a mess: confusing, incoherent, or even boring.  We’ll examine some successful cases in which bestsellers were turned into movies, as well as a few times where it all fell flat.

After the presentation, enjoy a free showing of a major 2016 release.  Popcorn and water will be available free while supplies last.  Patrons are welcome to bring their own food or soft drink to the show!
