Road improvements on Diversion Dam Road continue to make progress. When construction is completed, residents will realize the benefits of a rebuilt intersection, new road surface, flood drainage improvements, and a traffic control signal at the intersection of Diversion Dam Road and Highway 79.
While construction progresses, access to Diversion Dam Road from Highway 79 is restricted through Friday, August 5th while the area is prepared for new concrete pavement. This access restriction includes Diversion Dam Road access from the Giant/76 fuel station and McDonalds. Traffic to Diversion Dam Road is not permitted through either of these access driveways during this time.
This phase of the project includes the replacement of the Highway 79 approach section of existing asphalt pavement with concrete pavement on Diversion Dam Road and replaces an existing irrigation pipe underneath Highway 79. Motorists can expect traffic flow restrictions in both directions along Highway 79, as workers replace the existing irrigation pipe.
The detour route is from Butte Avenue to Bowling Road, then to Diversion Dam Road. Please take care to observe workers in these areas and all traffic control signage.
