The Florence Teen Council, in operation for just over a year, is designed to provide leadership and programming opportunities for local teens. Members of the Florence Teen Council or FTC have presented several events during that time including teen nights at the aquatic center, tournaments and events for senior citizens. Members also enjoyed field trips to various sporting events including Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Diamondbacks games. The teens also visited various parks and family fun centers.

Members also participated in the League Youth Program at the annual Arizona League of Cities and Towns annual conference. FTC members assisted in planning and participating in last spring’s Teen Leadership Symposium which saw teens from surrounding communities attend as well.

Last month, members traveled to Heber, Arizona to present a dance program for kids with multiple sclerosis at the Whispering Hope Ranch.

Citizens who wish to support and donate towards the Florence Teen Council may forward checks to the Town of Florence Community Services Department, P.O. Box 2670, Florence, Arizona 85132. In addition to monetary donations, the teen council could use bottled water, gift cards and gift certificates for the various events.

All funds and donations will help support this valuable program, dedicated to building leaders in our community.
