Visitors to Florence Parks and Recreation Department’s “Freedom Fest” will enjoy hours of great music performed by “The Real Thing,” a variety band.   The event, scheduled at Heritage Park on Monday, July 4, 2016 will feature the sounds of Pop, Rock, Easy Listening, Country, Soul, Funk Motown, Jazz, Blues, to current Dance Hits.  The Real Thing will perform on stage from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

The Fourth of July activities begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Florence Aquatic Center located at 174 West First Street. Open swim begins the independence celebration and lasts until 5:00 p.m.  The Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the Florence Unified School District to host a back to school drive.

To enter the Aquatic Center the public is encouraged to bring new or gently used backpacks and school supplies, which will be donated to FUSD.

The fun at Heritage Park starts at 3:00 p.m. and includes Horseshoe, Corn Hole and Mud Volleyball Tournaments, bingo, and inflatables for the kids.

Freedom Fest is co-sponsored by Pulte Homes, Country Thunder, Sun Power, and The GEO Group.
