The second in a series of winter historical presentations is Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Florence Library and Community Center.

Swing into History begins at 6:00 p.m. and is an intriguing look at the influence and legacy of the big band era. For thirty years, America listened to artists such as Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller.

Presenter Erik Larson will not only discuss how famous bands, vocalists and composers got their start but Larson will play from his own personal collection of 30,000 recordings. Larson will also share interesting historical trivia and display vintage sheet music and posters.

This historical presentation is free. For more information, call Megan Cetta at (520) 868-7589.
