After a survey and analysis of the Town of Florence’s fire and utility operations, the Insurance Services Office (ISO) has increased the Town’s rating from a 4 to a 3.  The improvements the Town has made in fire and utility services since the last ISO rating was determined in 2005 are a direct result of the improved ISO rating.  The effective date of this change is May 1, 2017.

Florence Mayor Tara Walter explained the importance of the change in the Town’s ISO rating.  “The improved ISO rating is a direct reflection of the top-notch fire services the Town provides.  Florence residents should be excited to know we are receiving exceptional fire service and our new ISO rating may save us money.”

The lower ISO rating should reduce property insurance rates for property owners in Florence.  Each insurance company independently determines the premiums it charges to its customers and not all insurance companies handle their rates the same way.  Residents should check with their insurance companies for more information on the improved ISO may save them money.
