The Florence Community Library invites you to a REPEAT of its January movie presentation. Come to the library Saturday, January 28, at 1:00 pm for a repeat of our look at the career of actor/producer Tom Hanks, with the discussion followed by a showing of an acclaimed 2016 movie. This time we’ll have double the available seating – So if you were turned away last Saturday, or if you missed it, or if you just want to see it again, we are happy to welcome you!

Join us as we trace Hanks’ journey from sitcom actor to internationally respected movie star. We’ll look at his unpromising ‘80s work, from TV sitcoms to middling comedies. We will glance at a couple of his early successes, as well as a few embarrassing box office bombs… Followed by his rise in the 1990s, as he became a back-to-back Oscar winner, regularly compared to classic movie stars such as Jimmy Stewart.

After the presentation, enjoy a free showing of a critically acclaimed, fact-based 2016 movie.  Popcorn and water will be available free while supplies last.  Patrons are also welcome to bring their own food or soft drinks to the show!
