The Florence Community Library invites you to its January movie presentation on Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 pm. We will look at the career of actor/producer Tom Hanks, with the discussion followed by a showing of an acclaimed 2016 movie — all completely free of charge!

Join us as we trace Hanks’ journey from sitcom actor to internationally respected movie star. We’ll look at his unpromising ‘80s work, from TV sitcoms to middling comedies. We will glance at a couple of his early successes, as well as a few embarrassing box office bombs… Followed by his rise in the 1990s, as he became a back-to-back Oscar winner, regularly compared to classic movie stars such as Jimmy Stewart.

After the presentation, enjoy a free showing of a critically acclaimed, fact-based 2016 movie. Popcorn and water will be available free while supplies last. Patrons are also welcome to bring their own food or soft drinks to the show!
