Experience the art of taiko drumming in the courtyard at the Florence Community Library! On Saturday, April 30th, at 5:30 pm, the Florence Community Library will host Phoenix-based Fushicho Daiko for a lively performance of taiko.

Formed in 1992, Fushicho Daiko uses storytelling, humor and an excitingly unique blend of music, theater, and dance to present taiko drumming to their audience. Taiko is an ancient musical art form that developed in Asia. It was originally used as a form of long distance communication but over the years it has evolved into a more spiritual and celebratory medium.

This program will be held outside so please plan accordingly.

To sign up, or for more information, please contact the library at (520) 868 – 8311.

This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
