The Town of Florence has successfully completed its search for a new Finance Director with the selection of Joe Jarvis.  Following an extensive search, the Town completed a vetting process that included expert panelists from within and outside of the Town’s organization.  Mr. Jarvis replaces Gabe Garcia, who resigned from his post in December 2016.

“Florence was fortunate to have several qualified candidates with varying types of finance and management backgrounds to have applied for this important position,” explained Town Manager Billingsley.  “Mr. Jarvis has the expertise and knowledge to hit the ground running and immediately be a valued employee in our organization.  I’m pleased to have him as a member of our Town leadership team.”

Joe is a native Arizonan and earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University.  He has more than 8 years of public-sector management experience, and was most recently the Finance Director for the City of Globe.  His prior experience was with Broward County, Florida, Senator John McCain’s Office, and the City of Winslow.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Town of Florence and its residents,” Jarvis commented.  “Florence has a tremendous reputation of being fiscally responsible and I am excited to be a part of a team that continues that trend.”
