The Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the Jr. NBA Youth Basketball League. The deadline to register is Friday, January 28, 2011. This is a fundamental basketball league focusing on fun, sportsmanship, and team play.
Registrations are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at the Parks and Recreation Office and Fitness Center, located at133 North Main Street. There is a fee of $25.00 per participant. All participants receive a t-shirt. League games are played Saturdays starting mid February at the Florence Multi- purpose center.
Children ages 6 to 8 can register for the Lil Tykes division and children ages 9 to 10 are eligible for the Junior Division. There are separate divisions for boys and girls for ages 11 to 13 and additional divisions for teen boys and girls for ages 14 to 17. Ages are determined as of January 28, 2011.
Participants registered for the Lil Tykes division will play on 8’ or 9 ft. modified hoops, while the Junior, Senior, and teen division will play on regulation hoops.
