The cool fall air is near and the gridiron waits. The time to register for the Florence Parks and Recreation Department Junior NFL Youth Flag Football League is now.
Participants may register through August 14. Registrations are accepted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Department, located 132 N. Bailey Street. Registrations are also accepted at www.florenceaz.gov/parks.
Boys and girls ages 6 to 8 can register for the junior division, participants 9 to 11 years old are eligible for the senior division and youth ages 12 to 15 can register for the teen division. Ages are determined as of August 14, 2015.
The early bird fee of $35 per resident and $43.75 non-resident is accepted until August 7. Thereafter, a late fee of $10 is added to the initial fee until August 14. League games begin in September and are played on Tuesday evenings and some Saturdays. Volunteer coaches are needed for the successful operation of this program.
