A seemingly long-lost art with today’s youth, is kite flying. Previous youthful generations made kite flying a regular weekend activity along with riding bikes and playing hide-and-seek.

The Town of Florence Community Services Department and the Arts and Culture Commission wish to make that experience come alive for kids today by presenting the first Kids Kite Festival on Saturday, October 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Kids of all ages are invited to the Library and Community Center, 778 N. Main Street to make kits and then fly them on the Aquatic Center Multi-Purpose fields. All materials are supplied and this is a free program.
