The Florence Community Library is closed to the public on Monday, October 11th in honor of Columbus Day. In addition, the library is installing a new circulation desk and is closed from noon on Tuesday, October 20th until it re-opens on Friday, October 22nd at 7:00am. We are sorry for any inconvenience but staff looks forward to a new and efficient circulation desk designed to make your visit to the library more pleasurable.

There are many new DVDs and novels at the library. Last week saw the release of Iron Man 2 on DVD. Other superhero DVD’s in our collection include the first Iron Man movie, the Incredible Hulk, Disney’s The Incredibles and the X-Men movie series.

The library has a growing collection of graphic novels as well. Recent additions to the collection include Stephen King’s Dark Tower series and Dean Koontz’s popular Frankenstein series. Come to the library and check your copies today.

Storytime at the library continues to be a fun experience. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited for a half hour of fun on Wednesday, October 13th, at 10:00am. Join “Miss Rita” and the Future Teachers of America class as we read There is a Bird on Your Head. We will laugh, sing and do all kinds of things to make you smile.
