The Florence Community Library’s collection of books and other lending materials remains intact!

Though the library is currently closed for repairs after damage from the storm this past weekend, damage was largely confined to the front desk. The collection of books, dvds, and other circulating items was unharmed. Though we are happy to accept limited donations according to our donation policy, we would like to reassure the public that there is no need to replace our existing collection.  All items that were on the shelf when the storm hit will remain intact and available when we reopen.

The library’s donation policy is as follows. We will accept limited quantities of: hardcover books that are 5 years old or newer; paperback books 3 years old or newer; and DVDs, CDs, and video games that are in good condition and include the original artwork. Materials not chosen for the library’s circulating collection will be added to the Friends of the Library book sale.

The targeted re-open date remains Friday, August 18. That date is subject to change, dependent on the needs of the repair work. Updates will be posted as they become available.

We thank the public for their concern and support during this period.
