The Florence Community Library closed out its 2017 Arizona Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World,” with an ice cream social and pool party on July 15. Patrons came out and enjoyed an afternoon of sweet treats and water fun, ending our Summer Reading Program with a flourish.

The library would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2017 Summer Reading Program. More than 160 Florence youth registered. They completed a combined total of more than 51,000 minutes of reading during the 6 week summer program! 24 adults participated in the library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, reading a combined total of 180 books. Congratulations to the top readers in all age groups!

Special thanks also to our summer reading sponsors: The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records; the Arizona Cardinals; Arizona State University; Chipotle; the Friends of the Florence Community Library; Home Depot; Papa Murphy’s; the Phoenix Mercury; the Phoenix Suns; and Sonic. Their contributions helped to make our program a success.

From all of us at the Florence Community Library, thank you for reading with us this summer. We look forward to seeing you next year!
