Major league baseball players will soon report for spring training and that means it’s time for baseball. The Town of Florence Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting registration for the Lil Tykes T-Ball League for boys and girls, ages 3 to 6 years old. This league is focused on sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun!
There are two age divisions: one for 3 year olds and the other is designed for 4 to 6 year old children. Ages are determined as of April 14, 2016.
There is an early bird fee of $35 per resident and $45 per nonresident if registered by Wednesday, March 9. Thereafter, both fees are an extra $10 from March 10 to the final deadline on Wednesday, March 16.
Practices are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Games are held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, starting April 13.
Volunteer coaches are needed for the successful operation of this program. Anyone interested in coaching a team or being a team mom is invited to attend a meeting at the Florence Library and Community Center on Tuesday, March 22, at 6:00 pm.
