The Florence Community Library has begun its big move! When the library next opens its doors, it will be at its new home at 778 N. Main Street. We are hoping the new library will be open to the public on or before Monday, August 31, 2015.

During the moving process, the library will remain closed. Library materials may still be returned to the outside book drop, which will be accessible at the new location after Wednesday, August 19.

You will still be able to check out items that are on hold for you during this transitional period. The Pinal County Library District office, located at 92 W. Butte Avenue, has agreed to house items on hold for Florence library patrons. This is not a lending library, so items on hold will be the only items available for checkout. The Pinal County Library District may be reached at (520) 866-6457.

Electronic library services will also continue to be available. You can access ebooks, downloadable audio, and streaming audio and video through apps available from the Pinal County Library District’s online catalog, accessible at: www.pinalcountyaz.gov/library. If you need assistance with any of these resources, please contact the Pinal County Library District at (520) 866-6457.

Your Florence library card is good at all Pinal County libraries! The closest library is the Coolidge Public Library, located at 160 W. Central Avenue in Coolidge. Please be advised that every Pinal County library has its own policies regarding computer usage, item limits, checkout periods, and late fees; the policies of the library where you check out will apply. You may contact the Coolidge Public Library at (520) 723-6030. A full list of Pinal County public libraries is available at www.pinalcountyaz.gov/library.

The Florence Community Library apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the closure. Library staff hopes this information will prove helpful to patrons during this period of transition.

For updates on the move and the opening date, please contact Jess Knudson, Florence’s Public Information Officer, at (520) 868-7541.
