Everyone enjoys a good scare—Right?

The Florence Community Library’s October movie discussion will be Saturday, October 15, at 1:00 pm.  We will celebrate Halloween with a focus on hauntings, poltergeists, possessions, and the supernatural.  The presentation will be followed by a horror classic, based on one of Stephen King’s best-loved novels.  Parents, please note—This film is “R” rated: Anyone under age 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Ghost stories and tales of the supernatural have been popular throughout history, from folk tales and legends to modern day film and literature.  Join us as we trace this genre from literature to film, while spotlighting a few particularly influential films in the history of horror.

The discussion will be followed by the movie.  Popcorn and water will be available free to all who attend.  Patrons are welcome to bring their own food or soft drink to the show.
