In November of 2015, Florence Police Department officers were instructed to address illegal parking issues though the education of the vehicle owner. The major violations that are prevalent throughout Florence are parking on the wrong side of the street and parking more than 18 inches from the curb.

The next step in our effort to address illegally parked vehicles is to issue warning notices. Over the next 60 days officers and police volunteers will attempt to make contact with the owner of the illegally parked vehicle to correct the problem or if unable to make contact with the owner, a parking violation notice will be placed on the windshield of the illegally parked vehicle.

The Florence Police Department will continue to educate drivers on the importance of proper parking; however at the end of the 60 days warning period, officers will have the discretion to issue Parking Violation Notices when necessary.
