The Town of Florence is seeking public input from Florence residents on ideas for upcoming grant applications submitted by the Town. A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20th at 7:00pm at Town Hall.

Input and comment collected from the public at this meeting regarding possible projects will later be presented by Town staff to the Florence Town Council for their consideration when submitting grant applications in the upcoming months.

In the upcoming months, the Town will apply for various grants including but not limited to, the Arizona Department of Housing for the next round of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and State Special Project (SSP) funding.

CDBG and SSP grant applications must meet one or more of the following criteria: 1) primarily benefits low and moderate-income persons; 2) reduces slum or blight; or 3) addresses an urgent need or health hazard.

A second meeting to solicit ideas and comments from Florence residents is expected to occur in late January or February. A notice from the Town will be publicized when the date is identified.

For more information about the meeting, or to discuss your thoughts about possible projects, please contact Bill Norman, Interim Grants Coordinator, at the Florence Town Hall, located at 775 North Main Street, or by calling 520-868-7513.
