The Florence Town Council is hosting a public hearing on Monday, July 13 to discuss the Town’s property tax rate. At this time, the Town Council has directed staff to not increase the property tax rate this year. Under this scenario, the Town of Florence property tax rate remains at $1.182 per $100 of net assessed valuation.

Although the tax rate is not increasing this year, the total Town-wide property tax levy increases $15,985 or 1.82% due to an increase in the total Town-wide net assessed valuation, as derived by Pinal County. Due to the change in net assessed valuations, a home with a net assessed value of $100,000 may see an increase from $109.82 to $111.82 or $2.00 for the year.

Interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the proposed property tax levy scheduled for held July 13 at 6:00 p.m. Possible adoption of the property tax levy will be considered at the Town Council meeting on July 27 at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public and are held at Florence Town Hall, located at 775 N. Main Street.

The Town separately published the following Truth in Taxation Hearing Notice of Tax Increase as required by state statute:

Notice of Tax Increase

In compliance with section 42-17107, Arizona Revised Statutes, The Town of Florence is notifying its property taxpayers of Florence’s intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year’s level. Florence is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $15,985 or 1.82%.

This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the tax increase that is scheduled to be held July 13, 2015, 6:00 P.M. at Florence Town Hall at 775 N. Main Street, Florence, AZ.
