Updated on March 1, 2011: The New Construction Start Date is Monday, March 7

Road construction on Hunt Highway, just west of the intersection at Attaway Road, will cause congestion and delays for vehicular traffic. Motorists are asked to take an alternate route, if possible. The work is expected to begin on Monday, March 7th and is expected to last approximately two weeks.

For motorists who are not able to take an alternative route, flag persons and the use of a pilot car will direct traffic on bypass lanes through the construction zone. Motorists are asked to slow down vehicle speeds and obey all signs and directions given by construction personnel in the area.

The Town of Florence commissioned the work of Knochel Brothers to improve the roadway, which includes the milling of the roadway, a complete overlay of asphalt, and some roadway section reconstruction. The exact location of the road construction is on Hunt Highway, 1300 feet west of Attaway road continuing west to the county line.

Poor weather and other factors may cause a delay in the expected completion of the project. The Town of Florence is asking residents to be patient as we complete the project. Those with questions about the project are asked to call Tim Payne at Knochel Brothers at (602) 694-2738.
