Three bands are booked and ready to perform at the third annual Road to Country in historic downtown Florence on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

A Boy Named Sioux, Waterloo Revival and the Harry Luge Band are among the country artists who will perform from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Luge is a native Arizonan and has released five albums. His band has opened for Merle Haggard and Brad Paisley to name just a couple. A Boy Named Sioux has won several awards including “Best Local Band” from the Phoenix New Times Best of Phoenix awards and “Country Group of the Year” at the Phoenix/L.A. Music Awards. Cody Cooper and George Birge are Texas-based and began their music careers after meeting in middle school. Last year, the duo were signed to the Toby Keith record label and recently performed with Keith in South Carolina.

The event is free and presented by Florence Parks and Recreation, Country Thunder, KMLE, Arizona State Parks and Pinal County Mounted Posse. Road to Country Thunder is a pre-festival event for Country Thunder.

Downtown will also host a beer garden, good food, and inflatables. Overnight camping is available in the Library and Community Center parking lot located at 778 N. Main Street.
