The Florence Aquatic Center begins its third summer of operation beginning on Tuesday, June 6th. Open Swim is offered Tuesday through Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m.

The center, located at 174 W. First Street also offers Adult Lap Swim, Swim Lessons, Aqua Zumba classes, Junior Lifeguarding classes, Family Swim Nights and Teen Nights. Lap swim is only $3 and offered Tuesday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and in the evenings Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Swim lessons are offered in three, two-week blocks with the first session running from June 6 through June 15.   Aqua Zumba classes are offered in three, one-month sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first session runs from June 13 to the 27th with registration deadline set on Friday, June 9th. The fee is only $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Junior Lifeguarding classes are also offered in three, two-week sessions, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. The first session runs from June 6 to June 15. These classes, designed for 12 to 14 year olds, will introduce youth to the responsibilities of lifeguarding, including water safety, basic CPR-First Aid and leadership skills. The fee is only $20 for residents and $25 for non-residents. Family Swim Nights are on Fridays, June 23, July 21 and August 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Teen Nights at the Aquatic Center are on Fridays, June 30, July 28 and August 25, also from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Daily use fees are $1 for youth (six months and under are free), 17 years old and under and $3 for adults. Pool passes are available at a substantial savings.
